There are moments when the cosmos, the changing seasons, and life’s quiet milestones weave together into something deeply transformative.
On August 12th, under the cosmic alignment of a solar eclipse, we celebrated my daughter’s wedding. The evening was themed Under the Stars—a tribute to true love confirmed and held by the vast celestial heavens. To sit back and watch your daughter step fully into her own power, while welcoming the next generation with the birth of our darling granddaughter Athena, is a breathtaking threshold. The cycle turns, life renews itself, and the heart expands.
For me, this season marks my 60th year. Born in 1966, the Year of the Fire Horse, my nature has always carried a vibrant spark. Yet reaching this milestone, just as the eclipse season concludes, feels like an invitation to soften that fiery intensity into steady, nourishing warmth.
As the long, hot days of summer begin to release into the crisp, cooling embrace of early autumn, nature offers a gentle lesson in letting go. Autumn doesn't struggle; it simply releases what has served its purpose. We too are invited to fall back into balance—shedding excess heat, stagnant energy, and old habits that no longer serve us, making space for cool, grounded clarity.
In this chapter of life, growing older and wiser means discovering the beauty of stepping back. There is immense peace in sitting barefoot on the earth, knowing our children are safe, fulfilled, and loved by their own partners, while we take time to savor the simple rhythm of nature.
And in that peaceful stillness sits Romeo.
Romeo embodies the daily practice of Lensomy—the Sanskrit spirit of unconditional love and wholehearted devotion. Of course, he makes sure his daily essentials are met—prompting me for his meals, fresh water, spirited walks, and romps in the grass. But beyond the basics, he is all about cuddles and connection. When I’m sitting on the floor lost in work at my computer, it is Romeo who gently interrupts, nudging my hand to remind me to close the screen, step away, and play.
In his loyal presence, I have the sweetest vessel to pour out unconditional love. He anchors me in the present moment, teaching me that wisdom isn't just about reflection—it’s about knowing when to pause, play, and rest.
As the cool autumn breeze begins to sweep across the hills, I welcome this new decade with open hands and a light heart: grounded in peace, surrounded by family, and guided by the faithful companion resting by my side.
Always Lensomy
